The aim of the Sonnenkraft Campus is to bring together partners from the fields of innovative photovoltaics, pioneering e-mobility and charging technology as well as architects and planners in order to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and multiply expertise. Interested companies can rent co-working spaces or offices, set up workshops, open showrooms or rent event spaces. It offers a meeting place for business partners, specialist tradespeople, PV specialists and potential customers and serves as an information point for schools and interested private individuals and families.
As a former service area and petrol station, the site has perfect transport connections and its proximity to Italy and Slovenia means it has a large catchment area. Tesla and SMATRICS, leading providers in the field of charging technology, are building 24 fast charging stations on the site with up to 250 kW charging power open to all e-cars and 50 charging points that are suitable not only for cars but also for buses, estate cars and motorcycles. All charging stations are covered with double glass modules with bifacial cell technology produced in Austria and produce electricity. Sustainable materials were used for the implementation in cooperation with local companies.
An e-bike rental and service station will be a great addition to the adjacent cycle path that stretches between Klagenfurt and Feldkirchen. The natural spectacle of the adjacent nature reserve can be admired from specially constructed viewing platforms. Complemented by a modern gastronomic experience, visitors and employees will be treated to culinary delights on site in future. The office tower will have a sky bar as an event location and can be hired for events.
Innovation never stops. Here you can find out where you can meet us and gain exciting insights into our projects.
The Sonnenkraft Campus is supported by a strong network of partners who share our commitment to sustainable energy production. Our partners contribute valuable expertise, technologies and resources to jointly create a unique experience and competence center for solar energy on our campus.
As a professional in the field of innovative BIPV solutions (building-integrated photovoltaics), Vivatro GmbH is not only on site as the installer and operator of the campus and the PV systems, but also has its own location here, which also serves as a show park.
Tesla has provided the charging infrastructure at the SONNENKRAFT Campus. With 12 fast charging stations with up to 250 kW charging power and 25 charging points, one of the largest e-charging parks in the Alpe-Adria region has been created on the SONNENKRAFT Campus site.
Tailor-made e-mobility solutions - smatrics offers nationwide infrastructure and innovative services for electromobility throughout Austria - with 100% electricity from renewable energy. At the Sonnenkraft Campus, smatrics has installed 12 charging stations, the energy for which is supplied by the PV roof above.
The HASSLACHER Group is a global innovation leader in the field of intelligent and integrated system solutions for modern timber construction. With over 2,000 employees at 8 locations in Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Russia, the family-owned company is one of the leading timber industry companies in Europe. The company supplies the substructure for the e-charging stations at the SONNENKRAFT Campus.
The municipality of St. Veit an der Glan plays a pioneering role in solar energy generation throughout Austria. Numerous PV systems have been installed at decentralized locations. The flagship, however, is the PV project on the town's former landfill site.
Governor Dr. Peter Kaiser is enthusiastic about the entire SONNENKRAFT Campus: "With a share of almost 60 percent, Carinthia is a pioneer in the production of renewable energy - not only in Austria, but also in Europe."
Architecture is made by people for people. The exterior and interior spaces have an effect on our well-being, they influence our inner imaginary spaces, i.e. our thoughts & thus also our actions. The planning office "skape architects" around Stefan Kogler has designed the SONNENKRAFT Campus with the aim of creating something completely new & innovative - energy to touch, innovative PV to see & feel in the building.
The Austrian Photovoltaic Association represents the interests of the photovoltaic and storage industry in Austria. The association began its pioneering work on the Austrian PV market back in 2008. Since then, the PVA has been working closely with the industry to increase the PV capacity installed in Austria.
With its activities, the Carinthian Business Promotion Fund makes an important contribution to strengthening Carinthia as a business location and securing jobs in Carinthia.
This project is funded by the Climate + Energy Fund and is being carried out as part of the "Model and Flagship Projects Photovoltaics" program.Visit our SONNENKRAFT Campus
