Kelag apprentices as guests at the Sonnenkraft Campus

Experience the future

What does the future of energy look like - and how can young professionals be best prepared for it? Answers to this question were provided during a special visit to the Sonnenkraft Campus: 16 4th-year electrical engineering apprentices from the Kelag Apprentice School, accompanied by their trainers, took a practical and inspiring tour of our competence center for renewable energy.

Insights into production & practice

The tour started at one of our most important partners: SONNENKRAFT, manufacturer of high-quality photovoltaic modules "Made in Austria". The apprentices were given exciting insights into the production processes of the modules that are installed at the Sonnenkraft Campus by Vivatro GmbH, among others.

Afterwards, we went straight to the campus - with a focus on modern mounting systems and building-integrated photovoltaic solutions. How can a PV system become part of the building envelope? What variants are available for roofs and façades? And how can energy efficiency be combined with architectural aesthetics? Questions such as these were discussed on site using real examples.

Highlight: Austria's first PREFA showroom

Another highlight was the visit to Austria's first PREFA showroom, located directly on the grounds of the Sonnenkraft Campus. Here, the company presented innovative solutions for roofs, façades and integrated solar technology made of aluminum - a practical insight into the combination of craftsmanship, technology and design.

Training at the cutting edge

For the first time, the young visitors complete the new additional module "Renewable Energies", which expands the classic electrical engineering apprenticeship with key future skills, extending the apprenticeship period to 4 years and providing a comprehensive, future-oriented qualification.

"Training that inspires and creates prospects! My compliments to everyone who puts so much passion and quality into training young professionals. This is what the future looks like - practical, high-quality and in tune with the times. Into the future with the sun!"
- Vivatro GmbH

Together for the next generation

The Sonnenkraft Campus sees itself as a bridge builder between technology, practice and education. We are delighted about collaborations like this and are convinced that when young people experience and understand renewable energy, they become part of the solution.
